My heart is full as I write to you — filled with both gratitude to the Lord and expectation for what's ahead. I want to fill you in! The Song Creation Sings
"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world." (Psalm 19:1-4) Despite my days being filled with classes, worship sets, and evangelism, I've somehow found every excuse to make the two-hour drive to the Shenandoah Mountains nearly every weekend. It usually starts with a spontaneous message to my hiking friend Nikki for another last-minute adventure—and ends with us racing to catch a sunset, sunrise, or perfect camping spot find Worship, adoration, and meditation have been the overflowing river the mountains draw out of me. We are made to find the Creator in His creation and praise Him for it- both small glimmers and blinding lights of discovery are hidden, displayed and preaching of His manifold glory. Here is something I wrote in my journal after completing the hike up Old Rag Mountain: Beholding the glorious mountains covered in yellow, soft orange and dull red trees dancing across was only a glimpse of the beauty to come. Speechless yet wanting to sing every word at the sight of the rolling hills, how much more when I see the One of beauty beyond the ages? It felt as if I could remain beholding them forever— my eyes attempting to take in all they saw felt like one person commanded to drink the whole ocean— where to start? And how could I knowing how impossible it was? What will it be like forever sitting before the Eternal One who created the very mountains that stole my words, yet demanded my voice to respond? With that, I encourage you— go find Him in the things He has made, and let your heart be moved to worship. He is there, waiting for you to find Him, His breath of life singing through every tree, hill, river, and mountain. Until our King returns, —Maddie |
"For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. "- Isaiah 61:11
